“Now, it’s interesting that you should ask that . . . as there’s a stooory . . . and it’s true . . . it seems, back when Route Nine, was all there was, fer’ travelers, n’such, ’round these parts . . . the original owner . . . was a man . . . who was married . . . to a woman, whom . . . he cherished . . . and adored . . . extravagantly . . . who . . . it turns out . . . was . . . for lack of a better term . . . ‘in love’ with. . . (one ‘old-timer’ used the term, “GAGA over”) . . . a rooster . . . named, ‘General Sherman’ . . . inordinately . . . shall we say. Now, this rooster . . . was the master of his domain . . . but everybody ’round here . . . just called him . . . ‘The General’ . . . except’n for her . . . this one . . . particular woman, y’see. She . . . this man’s wife . . . she . . . much to this man’s . . . grief . . . humiliation . . . and everlasting pain . . . called him . . . ‘Daddy’ . . .”
